Drying Salt Fish

By Silverzone
A scene from the harbourside of a fishing village in Maderia. The fresh fish is caught, gutted and stretched on peices of wood and left to dry in the sun. Thanks for looking, Sylvia

Not sure I'd want to eat it, it must get covered in flies Sad. Well captured, though, and interesting. Carol

Once the fish is salted the flies and gulls don't go near it! It was first preserved to sustain sailors on long sea voyages and is a popular dish in local restaurants in Portugal . Sylvia

Looks like heaven to me Sylvia. Fish is just about my favourite food. Super shot.

An interesting image indeed, I like the way you've caught the sunlight through the fish skins
