Dubliners 2 - At Wolfe Tone's Feet

By mrswoolybill
I came across this little photo-shoot at the Wolfe Tone monument (aka Tonehenge) at St Stephen’s Green. Much more attractive that the statue itself, I felt - see V2 for confirmation.
If you have time, please view Large, I reckon this one is worth it.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Good morning Moira
What a colourful shot!!
And because they are posing for the camera, you've got them all focused so well in one direction, so that you can see their faces too.
Lovely capture

Nice statue! Which begs the question, what are a bunch of children dressed up as Russian dolls doing in Dublin in May?

Hi Moira,
From an Irish perspective this is a really strange picture! Wolfe Tone was a late 18th century Irish patriot. These kids are dressed up as Easter Eggs. The most seminal event of the 20th century in Ireland was the challenge to the English governance of Ireland by armed rebellion that took place on Easter Monday 1916. These kids are standing in front of a statue of Wolf Tone dressed up as Easter Eggs!! It could only take place in Ireland and possibly could only have been captured by an English woman (maiden name O'Leary and of the Irish diasora)! What a shot!!!!!!
John
