Duchess of Sutherland

By Alan_Baseley
Last night's returning Scarborough Flyer on it's way back to Crewe. It was a dismal evening and I ended up capturing the train at 1600 ISO, predictably resulting in a lot of noise.
I couldn't make a decent colour image so I decided to add some grain in Camera Raw and convert it to mono.
Did a bit of dodging and burning and this is the result

The treatment works well. Looks as id it could have been taken in the 1940's

Works well as a mono and has, as has already been said, a feeling of something old about the image.

Nicely worked Alan. I think your treatment really enhances the image and definitely suits the subject.

Well worked. Give it that classic timeless feel to it.
