Duke of Burgundy

By NigelKiteley
Thanks for the votes and comments on the Pearl Bordered Fritillary, much appreciated.

Went down to Rodborough common near Stroud with Ray Seagrove and Pete Withers today. The main aim was to find this beautiful little butterfly that neither i nor Ray had ever seen. We managed to see about a dozen aswell as seven or eight Dingy Skippers, and inbetween showers we managed a few photos.

A cracking shot of this beautiful little butterfly, you've captured its wing patterns and colours quite beautifully. I shall be visiting Prestbury Hill at the weekend to see if they have emerged there. I'm sure the Big O, Ade Osman will be viewing this one with great interest, we are hoping to get over to Rodborough and Swelshill Bank in a couple of weeks when the Adonis Blues emerge.

Well done you Nigel, was hoping to get up that myself over the next week or so, but don't think it's going to happen as I really busy with other stuff at the moment Sad Never mind. keep an eye out for us on your travels and you never know you might be unfortunate enough too bump into me Tongue

Another great day out mate!

A nice catch of this smart fella too, you have done really well given the atrocious conditions(which was me trying to make you laugh if I remember rightly Smile)

See you boys soon, Pete
