Dunbar Parish Church

By discreetphoton
Taken using my new Hoya R72 filter. I couldn't wait to try this out. Thanks to Angela who was let me play about with IR at the Rowardennan meet last November. If you haven't seen her portfolio yet you aren't looking hard enough.
Anyway, just got a filter of my own, and this is the early result.

This shot is fantastic. Works very well in black and white...they ought to use this setting for a murder mystery on tv, i'm thinking Poirot!
Very good indeed.

Looks great David, nice and sharp. Looks like plenty of work has gone in to bring out the detail in the brickwork??

Thank you. I have done a bit of photoshopping on this, but to be honest Paul I think the filter did a fairly good job on it's own. It certainly took me far less time to do this one than it did for some of my similar shots. I can't wait to revisit Whitby now!

no no no no....your not supossed to take better IR shots than me ! Thats not how it's supposed to work at all Grin

Great first shot David, just been directed here by your Dad,as my e" membership is out I have lost my Fave Photographers page to keep an eye on everyone :-(
Still, a magnificent building and subjects like this are made for the IR treatment. Thanks for the compliments above and thanks again for both you and Roy helping to make me feel so at home in November Smile

Winter isen't the best time of year for IR shots, try and find somwhere with lots of ivy and evergreen foliage untill the summer returns.

Take care and hopfully see you at the next meet Smile

Damned wireless.......it has obviously refused to take the comments I added (or tried to) when this went up.

What I said was ....... "Well done - I am sure Eric will like it"

Held it's own in the recent West Lothian 5-way comp. Fine monochrome, great effect and well executed.
