Dundee Bound - 3

By rhion
The final version of this cascade and my favourite (today!).
I've enjoyed working on this scene and I'm very grateful for (and pleasantly surprised at) all the comments and clicks that so many have left - thank you all.
Hope you like this one too: it's mainly just a duotoned version to increase the contrast and add some drama with a few tweaks here and there thrown in for good measure!

Oh this is definitely my favourite of the 3. Makes much more of an impact and the border works with it rather than against is as some borders tend to do.

Well done

I like the hard contrast too Richard, very dramatic effect, If you have a good photo to start with it can work many ways, well done, Adrian

The duotone works well here. The light on the water just sets off the whole image.
Great set of pictures still not sure which I like best so I will say I like them all the same.

Lehan, Darren, Adrian, Julie and Dave - mnay thanks for having a look and commenting. Glad you like this one as I feared it might be a bit too "extreme" for some tastes...
Julie - a bit of fence-sitting eh?Wink Glad you like them all equally!

Good depth is this one Richard - like the tones. Have changed the jibberish on my upload - have been out all day and son's cup final (they lost) and 7 year old nieces birthday mayhem!

OK I've lost it - I blame the wine as well! Deb!

Like Julie, I can't make up my mind as to which I like best.Probably because I feel that there is another version Waiting.
One with a darker sky, as in night time perhaps? To give the effect of phosphorescence on the water from a full moon

An very effective version which definately has that moonlight and mystery feel. I can imagine sitting by this waterfall on a still night with the moon peeking out behind a curtain of clouds, whilst listening to the sound of the water as it cascades and tumbles over the rocks making its own kind of music. It has that kind of appeal. I like it Wink

Ann, Bob. Kate and Ben - what a good lot of ePzers you are!
Ann - just the effect I was looking for so glad you see it that way and in capitals!
Bob - now then young fella, another version? I know what you mean though and I might even tinker a bitSmile
Kate - It's about 1000' up Ben Lawers so it might be a bit nippy - best bring a coat! Seriously though, the sound of water, be it the sea or a stream is music to me and I'm very drawn to it.
Ben - Fair enoughSmile
Thanks one and all.

Thanks for the mod Ann - this is just the sort of thing I hope to get! The shimmer on the water and the extreme contrast makes a stunning sight. I really must get down to more of these extreme views and be blowed to the lack of clicks I may get!!!
Just a shame you couldn't get it on here sooner Ann so that more people would have seen it!
So good of you to take the time.

Oh boy! Just what I needed. I used to be undecided and now . . . Really can't say which I prefer of the three. They are so different. I'll take all three and put them in different rooms. This one has even more drama and atmosphere, I think you posted them in the right order.

Thanks Chris, to continue my reply from #2, I myself just about go for this one with the other B&W a close second.
Yes, I think the order was right, glad you agree.
Thanks again,

Think this is my fav of the bunch too Richard..

Has just the right balance of nature versus the darkness that us creepy image producing blokes love!

Excellent work although, I think all three have their own merits...

Thank you also...

Thanks 5, I can well see that this would be your favourite! Interestingly it is noticeably the least popular of the three with the colour one being noticeably the most popular ....
Good of you to have a look and comment.
