Dune of Pilat, France

The Dune Of Pilat is located at the southern entrance to the Arcachon basin, it extends 616 m from west to east and 2.9 km from north to south and contains about 550 million cubic metres of sand, in the locality of Pyla-sur-Mer, which is administratively dependent on the municipality of La Teste-de-Buch, near Arcachon, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne. Its height is currently 110 meters above sea level.
Monochrome also. Kodachrome scanned. A 1983 holiday!

Taking great advantage of an interestingly shaped group shot. The b&w emphasises this for me, so a slight favourite.

Brings back great memories of a holiday in that area way back in the late '60s. Myself and the son of my French hosts had a camping fortnight there...good times, very good times!Wink
