Dunnottar Daybreak ...

By sut68
First light breaks over the pebbled foreshore beneath Dunnottar Castle.

On the Saturday, the Team headed east to Stonehaven with a view to shooting the castle here, but as usual there's normally shots to be had if you look over your shoulder Smile

The sky was forecast to be clear on this particular morning ... they weren't wrong either.

Techie stuff: 0.6 secs @ f14, ISO 100 + 0.9 ND Grad + 0.6 ND Grad.

Cheers for looking in folks, catch up in a bit ... got to put my uniform on and go warm the 'taxi' Wink

I like this a lot Paul and the clear sky works well for me. Probably better than a sky full of clouds because of the rock that breaks the skyline.

Your signature PPing is a joy too.

Ta guys, have a great evening.

Not that much done TBH Ian. Small exposure tweak, WB adjustment, saturation boost and a touch of contrast in C1, then usual sharpening routine in PS and a small shadow lift for some detail. Admittedly there was a fair bit of cloning sea spray to be done which did take me longer than I like Sad

Do agree though mate the clear sky probably helps a little more here Grin

EDIT: Just added the exposure and filtration details.

Great colours and I really like how the water in the foreground has come out.
Now I do like this one, very special indeed.

Really stands out this one, really love the sun right in the centre of the shot, it really draws your attention in from each corner - wouldn't noramlly work but with the sea stack this is nicely balanced.

Tis a bit of a scramble back up Phil, especially when it's muddy and wearing wellies with next to no grip Sad

I wondered when or if we would see any shots from you from Dunnottar. Really like this one Paul, the colour graduation in the sky is great and the sheen on those FG pebbles is excellent.
