A lovely B&W photo, I like it
Great image - it may be worth cloning out the 2 lighter bits on the bottom right as they tend to draw the eye away from the subject.

Very nice image. I like his expression - reminds me of my own reaction to having my photo taken when I was that age! Maybe that's why I spend so much time BEHIND the camera these days...

I don't suppose you could have pulled out a difuser panel to limit the light a bit Smile Try to find something to shade the subject or manually underexpose a little next time...

The childs expression looks kind of nervous which adds some realism.

This may not be technically perfect, but it sure is a fine portrait. The expression is priceless, and the yin yang of the dark and light are wonderful.
(sometimes I carry an umbrella to give some diffusion in really bright light)

To me this is a lovely play on the words and the juxtaposition of the human and animal not a learned treatise on photo technique. An excellent shot.

What have we here: high key and low key in one photo??? Or just high key?? I'll go with the high key here as it gives a good feeling.
One can over or underexpose on purpose to relay moods.
This image works well for me. We have this kind of bright light where I live too, I recognize the facial expression, but it's cuter on your son than on me!

He looks kinda apprehensive but his expression makes the image, Maybe next time try bracketing your shots, 1 under and 1 over..hope this helps?

Thank you all for words of wisdom. I really appreciated it and noted all your comments, corrections, and appreciation. I treasure it very much.

One of my favorite Artist Anne. Yes, you're right again, the king kong placed in shadow area and my son Jethro was placed under the sun. You're right by saying high and low key lights combination. I like your keen eyes and observation. You always got meSmile

I have PS, but don't use it as much as my old PaintShopPro. There is a current version XII made by Corel that has been given fairly good reviews. It's reasonable to buy. Find information HERE
There is a free program called GIMP that I'm told is very good. I have not opened my exe file yet, but hope to get around to reading the documentation. It's free and you can get it HERE .

Hi Dennis.

Like the simplicity of this shot and the somewhat unimpressed look on the boys face. Nice one.

I can see the problem for this exposure HDR could have worked well here, but then is it the need off programs. The expressions is great and that is the most important thing
