Fading away before our eyes, it reminds me of skeleton leaves left on wet pavements after all life has dissolved.
Just one thought, the narrow strip under the middle leaf is odd-looking, hard-edged. I would do some fiddling there...

Strange but very effective, Tanya.

It looks like a fossil to me (takes one to recognise one! Grin). Well spotted Tanya, makes a great image.

Lovely and I like its form with the shadow on the left, like it's pushing it over.

Very fine image, and I love the treatment, especially what you've done with the light.
Would you be able to get some tone into that edge Moira mentioned?

Thanks peeps Smile

Moira, I think the bit you're seeing is where the edge of the leaf has curled up on itself? Took me a while to figure out which bit you were talking about, but yeah, you could well be right Grin Trouble is, if I fiddle it quite possibly won't look right, so I think I'll just redo at some stage and choose my angle more carefully next time! I may well have a go at softening that edge, though, and will post a version if it comes out okay.

Sorry Alan, I think you must have posted just before I did! I'm going to give the image another go I think, and will post a version for comparison ...

Okay, two versions added for the sake of comparison - one with the edge softened and the other with that whole bit dodged and burned in a bit to create more contrast. Looking at them now, I'm leaning more towards V2 ... thoughts?

Yes, I hadn't actually realised that's what it is, I thought it was background. V2 works better for me because the whole leaf hangs together.

Lovely imagination, Tanyah. I took the title as the main item, and saw the leaves as syymbolically superimposed , on the curves of your body. Regards Martin

I think if those leaves were symbolically superimposed on my body, Martin, they'd be a heck of a lot more curved than that! Grin
But thanks - glad you liked it!

Very nicely worked Tanya and I think your lead image is my fav' of the set.

Hmmm… a better way might be to use "free-form" feathered selections. I could show you, but the problem is I'm not sure I could explain it, except to say it's a bit like cloning only better.BlushBlushBlush

P.S. you probably already know about it anyway...

Actually, no I don't ... well, I don't so anyway. Logically, I'd say it's to do with the lasso tool, a feather setting and then using something like a curves adjustment layer clipped to the selection itself ... close?
13 Jul 2016 5:48PM
Quite close. I only use Elements, so I don't have Curves. Use the Lasso to make the selection... feathered appropriately for the situation/intended use… then simply use Option key with Move tool and drag it to where you want it. Enable mods if you like, and I'll show you the result.

Like this Tanya, it almost looks like a sort of cave painting.
Well created.
