Eleventh night

By cats_123
Good Morning EPZers...a cooler start...yes, we had rain yesterday...which was sorely needed..

Over here the 11th is the chance to burn things, riot etc...much as normal that you won't see in the news anywhere else....today is the marching day...expect more fireworks!

This is a rather meagre effort at bonfire building...some are over 100ft high!!!

have a great day and stay safe Smile

PS..Well tried England...the better team won Smile

If that sign appeared anywhere near here Jeff, there would now be old car parts, someone's ripped out kitchen, a stack of tires, a dozen mattresses, black sacks full of house and garden waste and goodness knows what else. How civilised you are there. Wink

Isn't tomorrow - the 12th - the day of the marches?
Here in Norway the tradition of building bonfires is connected to the summer solstice , normally 21st June. The record height for a bonfire is from 2016 in the town of Ålesund and the height was over 47meters. (155 feet, a world record)

Yes... today was marching day...but last night they were burning cars and buses and even shooting at police in Londonderry!!!...they build bonfires next to houses and offices, so this year two of them were due to be demolished before the 11th, but they decided to set one alight anyway... tomorrow is Friday 13th!!! ...who knows what will happen??? 😀😀
