Elgol View

By stevenb
Taken just before the rain & hail arrived the colours are as they where.
Boat and mist added, I was trying to get a Turner type of effect, Have I achieved it.

Impressive, although IMO the boat doesn't look quite right somehow.

Credit due for trying this, but I don't think it's 100% successful. I like Turner, Elgol, boats & mist too, but to me it is not convincing enough.

The shot is strong enough to stand alone, without the boat, imo.

I agree with you Julian ,but in this case I was trying get a Turner type image maybe I should have waited till I got a old Frigate along all its rigging, I'll have to go to the next Tall Ships race.

Bill,

I think what I was trying to get at was you would've got the Turner look down a treat without being too literal about suggesting 'The Fighting Temeraire'!

Sorry, tend to agree, boat is not right, both scale and angle of lighting. When this kind of work is done, it is very difficult togther everything right.
Good effort all the same
