I went to take some pictures of the flowers (not easy with a breeze and long stems involved) when I realised that there was a tiny beetle, no longer than 2mm squeezing out of the flower's centre.
No doubt it was a mutually benificial for both flower and beetle ..... food and cross polination - but I like to think it was actually the beetle just getting out of his bed.
