Empty shop, Carlisle

By mrswoolybill
I focused on the accumulated detritus in an empty shop window, I liked the way it merged with the reflected detritus in the street behind me. Well photographically I liked it...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

A sign of the times in every shopping centre. Well documented.

We certainly need a reversal in fortunes... Laura Ashley is going busy, M&S are having to close more stores... there's not much left. .where will I spend all my pension? 😁😁

Thanks folks and good morning. The Union Jack was flying gamely but our town centres are not looking good.
Jeff, I never imagined you as a Laura Ashley customer?

The signage is all back to front, so I thought at first this was a straight-forward shot which you had flipped.

Moira - be patient, Boris has promised us all that things will get better after Brexit, and we all know thta the PM is an honourable man of his word. Soon, sights like this will merely be distant memories of a time before Utopia cam to the British shores.

What do you mean? Sceptical and sarcastic?🤔

Great street capture, like the merging of street and shop debris, a true reflection of our town centres these days.

Good mixture of reflections and debris inside the shop. Another casualty of the effect of on-line shopping is having on the High Street shops

To archaeologists of the future*, welcome to the Rubbish Age! Millions of tons of artefacts just waiting to be unearthed.

Interesting point. When we were photographing the industrial archaeology project at a former colliery site last autumn I was fascinated to see the specialists date different layers of debris to different decades right through the 20th Century, by the snack packets and empty bottles.
Thanks folks and Happy New Week.
