End of a dream

By DennisR
Once I had this dream of becoming a world famous pop star. Even spashed out and brought this guitar. The man in the shop said that so long I dind't mess with the strings I'd be all right.
All I had to do was read this learn Guitar in a day book and remember to which string to pluck.
Had my first gig last night. Ok so my voice is not up to much - but then nor was Elvis, On the other hand he didn't have his guitar smashed over his head by certain members of the audience.
How was I to know they were not rock fans but a pack of traditional finger in the ear folk fans.
Think I give the idea of fame and fortune in the music biz a miss and stick to hard core smoking.

Dennis : I gave up smoking when I could't get them 1 shilling (5 new pence)for 20 any more; in the Army in Germany we had a ciggy allowance at that price: when I got back to UK in 1958 they were 3/9d a packet of 20 ! (18 new pence about) - I soon gave up smoking! Wanted to buy camera stuff and girls cost at least 5 for a good night out, with a cinema seat (in the POSH seats at 3/9d,not the cheapo seats at 1/6d),a meal and a box of chocs for the girl!
regards;Peter.
