Well the composition is way off, it's unbalanced and that makes it irritating, it breaks all the standard composition rules, and to be honest, I can't say why exactly, but IMHO it's absolutely fabulous!
Perhaps it's because it jars, I have no idea, but it is attention grabbing...but is this just because of that great sky? Not sure.
The sky on its own would just be a good sunset sky.
Crop the image below half way down and it would be a reasonably well balance silhouette sunset.
Very difficult to crit. Strangely unsettling, aggravating yet enjoyable. Does that make any sense at all?

I see 27 folk have looked at it but only one has commented. I'd be interested to see if anyone puts their gut thoughts to this image.

Well I'll put my thoughts to it, what a great image. I agree with my colleague Patricia (hi Patricia, how's Rhodes at this time of year) about the balance but it is a great capture.

I think if it was mine, I would possibly clone out the aerials and just have the roof and chimney pots, might help to balance it more.

I've uploaded a mod, see what you think and I hope it helps.

I have to say I think this has a real epic, closing scene in a blockbuster, Armageddon/Mad Max - type movie feel to it.
A fantastic sky with really strong colours, and a truly interesting silhouette, which I think works all the better for being 'unbalanced'.
