Engine Driver

By franken
There was a waterfront festival held in Barry last weekend. It included a fun fare, tall ships and activities for kids etc. The steam railway was also operating and this is a pic from it.

The engine is no 9466 and is a tank locomotive. This engine and about 250 others spent decades in a scrap yard (Woodhams) about 200 yards from where this was taken.
The majority of preserved steam engines in the UK were rescued from this scrap yard.

Great shot Ken. The look on the drivers (?) face tells of years of experience. Spot on.

Very nice candid of the man and his train, love the inclusion of the smoke. These enthusiasts must be admired for rescuing engines and restoring them like this.
