Erasure Live!

By Andrew_Hurley
This is Andy Bell of Erasure. Vince Clarke is just to the right. Taken at Delamere Forest (near Chester) on 1 July 2011. It was the first time I'd ever seen a band play in a forest before, so it was quite a unique experience. Simple minds also played on the same stage, just 2 days later. The pictures from this concert, are probably the sharpest and clearest I have ever got. Andy Bell was using a Shure microphone! That's how clear they were.

Statistics: Erasure have released 45 singles (inc EPS), 35 of them reaching the top 40. they have released 14 studio albums including 5 consecutive no 1 albums (1988 to 1994). I wouldn't mind being 1m behind them!

All comments and votes very welcome indeed.

Super sharp shot. Great exposure too.

I first saw Erasure in Nottingham in September 1986. Andy was dressed a little less conservatively compared to how is is here. Lycra cycling shorts with a gaping hole in the bum and a lace basque.
Certainly umm.. different. Wink

I first saw Vince (Yazoo) at Rock City, Nottingham in 1981. He is a very talented and underrated musician.

Hello G,

Thanks for your comments, very much appreciated.

It was a great concert, and something a little different (a Forest!), but I've seen much better from them; The Swan, The Tank and The Balloon tour was amazing. They have released 45 singles, 35 of them reaching the top 40. They have an incredible back catalogue and Andy has released (less successful) solo material himself. I love this band and am so glad I have finally got some decent pictures of them (after 25 years!!!).

A few more to come so look out for them.
