On the right is Clink prison - No.1 Clink Street. Up ahead, through this little alley, is Borough Market.
I only had my compact so this isn't quite as I'd have liked it, but the half-words really caught my eye, along with the light and shadows.

Thank you for looking. Hope to catch up with everyone a bit later but have had things to deal with last couple of days so I've slipped a bit.

Smile

Oh, and if you drop in Nathan, I send you my very best wishes. We're all thinking of you.

Everything about this is interesting as well as the puzzle letters. That prison must be really old. WE have a saying here...] Throw him in the Clink,.. as in 'Throw him in prison!'.
Is this the place that saying stems from? TG

I thought your title was a swear word. I see it in a different light now that I've opened the thumbnail! And very nice too.

Regards.

I've always liked city architecture piccies. This one is excellent and so original. Well caught. Don't denigrate compacts especially Canon ones! I have an S95...it's great!

Well, the Golden Hinde, which is the replica boat at the end of this alley, is in Pickfords Wharf. Next time I visit I'll check the rest of the lettering - didn't think at the time. In too much hurry to get to the pub. Grin

And yes, "in the clink", etc. is derived from Clink Prison.

Excellent tight street scene - I guessed the lower word was 'wharf ' - top word has got me beat. Smile

Love the disjointed syllables and the balance between the two circles, window and pub sign. The verticality is fit and proper for the street where it can often feel gloomy on the pavement far below!

Lol I know that area well, there`s some old wooden ship just around the corner and a riverside pub that does decent fish and chips Smile
