Even in the Quietest Moments...

By deepsky
I was on holidays in the Basque Country a few weeks ago, in the Pyrenees. The sceneries are stunning over there and I loved the semi-wild horses wandering on the mountain flanks.

I know this scene has a lot of empty space but this is exactly the image I wanted. I wanted to give a good sense of space and focus all the interest on the horse himself. I photographed the animal by surprise and when he saw me, he stopped in his tracks and stared at me without moving for a minute or two.

ISO: 200
Aperture: f/3.2

Agree with windrider - keep horse and rock, cut out 80% of the grass. Keep mainly the out of focus grass to focus viewer on your subject.
