Evening Light

I have not been out much recently, so another shot from the epz meet a couple of weeks ago.

This shows Fulking / Perching Hills which are quite a well photographed composition.

Ideally I wanted to show a bit more of the sky but cropped it out, in camera, as at this moment in time was a bit bland.

Lovely light. I may suggest slight cropping; on top to take away that little piece of sky and on the bottom to take away the lower bushes/trees (visible bottom right)...just a thought. Cheers, Mark.

I like the light and shadows Jeff and the layered effect that they create. I understand that the sky was bland so would agree with Mark above about cropping out the little piece at the top - actually also the small strip along the bottom, almost a letterbox presentation. It would in my opinion really accentuate the shape of those rolling hills Smile

Smile Surprised by the interest in this.
Thank you all for stopping by and the comments.

The suggestions re- cropping are interesting, will have to have a longer look later tonight ( taking a quick 5 minute browse during my lunch break at work ! ! )

Following the constructive comments about cropping I have spent the last hour experimenting with the crop tool in Lightroom.

The suggestions were good and give a different "feel" than what I saw at the time.

One can go on forever but for me personally:

1) cropping out the sky works better than I thought, so a tick for that Smile

2) cropped the right to exclude the bright reflection off of the electricity wires

3) sorry folks... I still prefer the strip of dark at the bottom acting as a "base" for the brighter field so would only lose the foreground field and keep / use the next line as the crop base

Now I am just waiting for the 500mm lens to be released later this year then I can do the cropping "in camera" Wink

Anyway enough of my ramblings but thanks again to everyone for taking the time to comment with the useful feedback

From the thumbnail I thought this was one of mine, then realised I haven't uploaded that picture yet!

This is a great viewpoint and the light on those hills is just wonderful. I agree with cropping out the sky and I also like the darker trees in the bottom of the frame.
