Evening On The Stade

My interpretation of The Stade, a general view.

A mixture of the fishing vessels, pebbles, seagulls and East Cliff as the backdrop.

Nice light on the boats. The general 'jumblyness' of the area comes across well.

Thank you for stopping by Julie.

I think, for me, this is part of the challenge... to convey it without it actually looking a "mess" Wink

I agree with Julie - a "busy" image, but it is what it was, and you've captured it very well!

Hi Jeff, as stated a busy image, I like all the seagulls scattered around. I think you may have oversharpened this one as their appears to be a few halos/artifacts popping up, especially with the birds at the bottom of the frame.

Thank you Ann & Graham for stopping by with the comments.

What are and where do you see the halos / artifacts ?
I have switched the sharpening off and cannot see any difference Sad

I think is just the blue and not halo's yes it is busy, but then that's what that is about so it has captured that as intended for me, but the amount of blue gives a strange look

Shall we ask Sarah to get her "fishermen friends" to re-paint the vessels Wink

actually I think I may ask them Jeff, thought a lot of them could do with a lick of paint Wink I like the scene, shows off this busy working fishing beach very well. Re the blues... perhaps try toning them down a little - not that I can talk, think I over do it with the colours some times Smile

Thank you for stopping by Sarah and the suggestion re- toning down a little.

Perhaps my last few uploads have been rather "vibrant" Wink ... but in a way reflects my "mood" just now and how my Velvia 50 transparency shots would have come out in such conditions, straight from camera !

Now you have me thinking, will have to check today's upload which I prepared last night, before hitting the upload button tonight Wink
