Every little girl ...............

By helenlinda
...........would like to be a fairy on a Christmas tree
A very twee song I know, but I just happen to have found the fairy that we used to have on our Christmas tree when I was a child. It was paper and incredibly fragile but I managed a photo of her. She must be around 60 years old now and came to light as we are having a major sort of the loft. The second part of this image is a picture from a book that I was given in 1955 by my godmother. Its called Tales told by the fireside and was written and illustrated by M.W.Scutt
Thanks for looking
Helen

A delightfully composed image. It is good that you can preserve an image of the fairy, even if the original paper one disintegrates.

What a treasure! So glad you found the fairy and that it's in fairly (hohoho) good shape.

You've combined it so well with the book's image Smile

We're allowed to do this at Christmas. It's part of the deal. Beautiful and full of nostalgic warmth.
It's also rather more accessible than modern story-books, and modern Christmas songs too.

How I love the old ornaments and books. There is something infinitely more personal about them. This is a wonderful reminder of our childhood that we carry with us our entire life.
