Every picture tells a story

By Angi_Wallace
I took a short trip out this afternoon to discover the joys of Weston Super Mare and this is one of the shots I returned with.
Unfortunately my 18-55 lens played up so I had to resort to using my macro lens as it was the only other lens I had in my bag at the time. I used an orange filter for this one.

Just realised its not clear what you are looking at - these people are strolling along a walkway which drops away down to the sea behind them and in front of them is a very large pool of water, I might upload a pic which illustrates is a bit better.

A beautifully composed image. The filter does it proud. It looks like they are suspended in space.

Hmmm is this a bridge or someone trying to cross a prairie in winter-- either, a wonderful image and I love the orange filter effect!

A lovely colourful capture.
The lake in the foreground is Marine lake with the walkway to knightstone Island.(Went there many times as a child)
You can also just make out the Island of Steepholm in the background.

The rich colours of #1 and appearance of an impossibly long bridge are fantastic. I'm not so sure about the composition, though: the walkway is in a sort of no-man's-land between half way and two-thirds of the way up the frame.

I tried cropping it with the walkway in the middle but that didn't work because the darker tones at the top made it look top-heavy. I've uploaded a mod where the walkway's just a little above-centre, which I think gives a better balance to the shot.
