It brings back memories of Woolworth stores. In the early sixties I was a fan of Airfix construction kits and that was the place to get them.

Brings back memories of the war years and my mother taking me round “Woollies” as a small child. Always a big highlight for me then. Great composition with very nice tonal values Bill. Excellent 😀😀😀😀

A blast from the past! Woolworth's I believe used to trade under the banner nothing dearer than sixpence or 5 and 10 cents store in the USA. The Poundstretcher of their day?

That's ancient, Bil, I know they went bust some years back but that sign must predate that time by decades. Might be worth something...

Certainly a blast from the past here Bill, with the old signwriting. I miss Woolworth in a strange way, I guess it is because they were such a fixture of the high street.

Stores like woolworths were not not full of foreign made goods back then ....clothes lasted you much longer not like our throw away garments of today and toasters you bought there went on for years instead of months ! Woollies Is dearly missed
Great mono Bill

Lots of textures and shapes to study here!
When I was a kid my Mum and older brother took me too Woolworths pre Christmas I was fascinated by the colours noise and the strange things people did in the store,
I was allowed to choose one toy which happened to be a tin plate rabbit it cost sixpence and I’ve still got it today and still works.
