We visited the gardens at Exbury House today, one of our favourite places. The estate stands at the edge of the River Beaulieu, and the magnificent gardens were the result of the vision of Lionel de Rothschild. The neo-Palladian house was designed in the 1920s, built around an existing structure and faced with Portland stone. It is still home to members of the Rothschild family.
Again, this is a bit of a departure for me, but I just loved the warmth created by the sunshine on the Portland stone facade and portico.
Thanks for looking; all C & C welcome.
