Exmoor - The Doone Valley and Lorna Doone Farm

By HobbitDave
Here is a small collection of pictures looking down over the Doone Valley, and the very old Lorna Doone Farm at the bottom of the valley, with the river, its ford, which can be crossed on horseback, and 16th century stone bridge. A place of legends, but it does still exist in a very remote and windswept part of Exmoor. If you look at the pictures with the sheep in, especially v.7, the land slopes down into the valley at nearly 60 degrees in places (agile sheep!) and the road is single track with passing-places. A place still set in the last century, thankfully! A pity it wasn't sunnier for the pictures, but a special place in any weather.. Dave

Beautiful images, just lovely. Think I would have had a close up of the knotty hole in the tree to the left of #2 as well. Perhaps you did and are saving that for another day.
