Experimental Night Shot 2

By Monochrome2004
Over the past few month Iíve been getting to grips with taking images with my camera phone Iíve learnt a lot
Mainly keeping the phone steady whilst composing shotsthis has been easier said than done but Iíve persevered and took this one a few nights ago.

I love empty streets they are so interesting and on this occasion all the Christmas lights were on making it
Much more cheerful but n investment is required ie a camera phone tripod and special clamp this will give me much more flexibility for the future.

Interesting combination of gloom and colour, emphasizing the emptiness, and making it attractive to the eye. The broken glass texture adds to the gloom. All in all this composition makes the street very present. Very nice to take a long look at, and to come back to it.

A fine night shot with the camera phone, Carole, and like the processing 😃 Being so light compared to a big camera does make it harder to hold it still, especially in low light as here when a slow shutter speed is needed, but well done! 👍

I'm thinking there was a hail storm. Hail the size of golf balls. Hitting all the windows and smashing them. Very scary image. Well done with your phone Carole.

A wonderful shot . . . and the processing makes me think of something from an early Dr. Who episode. (Not sure why as I was never a fan, even in the days of the Daleks. Smile ) I have walked down streets like that heading back to digs after a pint (or two) in my youth. There is something quintessentially British about that street scene and composition - and it is not just the side of the road that the cars are parked on.

Beautiful atmosphere Carole, I can feel the silence along the street , and the night sky seems full of stars.
A skillful and very steady phone shot indeed.

This is quite a photo Carole.....and from an iPhone! The token glass is a great thematic lead for the whole street scene...suggestive of big city life...and an empty street late at night.

....The deserted street and your processing giving this a bit of an apocalyptic
Christmas atmosphere Carole ..... very suited to our current dilemma I am afraid.
I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas so far !!
best regards walt
