Exploring The Compact

By LynneJoyce
Opening with an image that is a concession to the Shadow Saturday theme and ending with a few painted effects images for Silly Sunday, this is a record of my going out with only the compact camera yesterday. I have had it for a while and not really explored its potential so I decided to do so.

I couldn't have picked a more challenging day for it. The wind was strong, the Sun was bright so I couldn't see the screen for much of the time but hey ho, that's what it is like for much of the time so why not?

Needless to say there were a fair number of binnable shots but on the whole I'm pleased with it. After all there are times when we don't want to lug the heavy kit around but do want to record what we see.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

A lovely set, I especially like foxgloves, they're a favourite of mine. Great use of a compact, shows that in the right hands they can be an excellent tool.Smile

V11 my favourite of this experimental set, Lynne.
The Lumix TZ series has proved to be a star among compacts, Julie uses her's on holiday's and high day's and does produce some very good results. However...I much prefer to be seen with my heavy black box as it makes me look like I mean it. It's a man's thing you know. Wink

I did not get on with my Lumix, so sold it for an Olympus Pen which is great for carrying (especially as I use a stick for walking when out). I take my Pentax for specific trips!!!!! You got far better results with your Lumix than I did - Love the foxgloves.

A great collection here, Lynne, well captured with your little Lumix - love the foxgloves especially too! 👍 Looking at the specifications, it's rather like my little Lumix GM1 body-wise, but mine has interchangeable lenses. It's great when you want the quality without being bogged down with gear, being pocketable, and does what the DSLR does - really should use it more.

Excellent set of captures, Lynne.
The foxgloves look especially lovely.
The compact is in very capable hands. Its great not to cart a bulky DSLR sometimes.Smile
