Lovely capture Karen, it is amazing how many Roe deer there are in UK, even in built up areas. Always great to see them, but they are inclined to eat garden plants, especially roses.

Love the expression of mild surprise that you've captured here. Perhaps a slightly lower viewpoint would have worked even beter?

I must admit this was a grab shot - I'm not sure who was more surprised, me or him! I'd just walked over the brow of the hill, he spotted me and was off through the woods!

I didn't know you farmed deer Karen!Wink Excellent eye contact with your subject. I saw a number of fallow does yesterday when in the Forest of Dean but i didn't get any pics as i only had my macro lens with meSad

I'm thinking of buying one myself to carry around in the summer instead of having to hump the big sigma around
