This hedgehog was "shot" in the dead of night in our yard. Our two little dogs of course wanted to eat it, with no luck. In the end I transported it out from our yard in my jacket.

Great shot, well done, just a shame about the shadow at the front right of the image.

Shadow in front is from holding camera very low down in grass, to "level" with hedgehog. I guess since fixed flash is on left side of cam, it is unavoidable on such close range.

Agree about shadow but if you took a tighter crop on the hedgehog you could get get rid of it! Or the other alternative is to clone it out but that would need quite a degree of skill!
However good capture I like the twinkle in his eye!
It would have been better if you had chosen a lighter surround for your upload as the sky blends too much into it.

Just uploaded a mod for you. I would be interested in what you think?

Thanks RosaB for mod, I like it ! Will try to do similar on original. With regards to cloning, I am not so good at it, and expect result would be dubious Smile
I did some cloning on the black background though, to make it all black, as there were some disturbing light sources there.

Hi Vilcens
Glad you like it. I had a go at cloning the grass over the shadow but it wasn't very successful on such a small photo. I also tried to remove some of the grass out of his face using the healing tool but couldn't get the prickles to look right! You might be more successful on the full size pic
You did well on the BG
I enjoy playing around with photoshop but am still learning.

Just great to be able to get a picture of these little creatures, getting more and more scarcer unfortunatey. Great Opportunity.
