F81, the frigate HMS Sutherland, being towed away from it's berth at Shieldhall on the Clyde on 29.09.2011
(PS. This was the third of 3 images in series, but the others would not upload for some reason.......the first was to have shown the tugboat towing the foredeck area only).

(INFO: HMS Sutherland is the 13th. of 16 Type 23 frigates and she has clocked up numerous firsts:
(1) she was the first warship to pass under the Skye Bridge.
(2) she made the first circumnavigation of the globe by a RN ship in 14 years.
(3) she was the first ship to receive and fire the updated Seawolf air defence missile system.
She is the UK's fastest frigate having reached 34 knots (39mph) in 2004.
She was in action briefly off the coast of Libya earlier this year, but now back in UK waters she is providing a platform to allow training of future Principle Warfare Officers, Navigators and Air Crew).

It looks the ''business'' this one Ronnie.

A fine record shot.

The Frigates always seem to look sleeker and faster than anything else in the Navy, for me at least. The newer ships are more bulbous for faster travel through the water it seems.

Nice work being here at the right time Ronnie.

I've had problems uploading several versions before and had to change my browser to manage the uploading.

Lovely looking ship that Ronnie.

I dont know why, but I always find machines built to kill & destroy other things and beings usualy look fantastic, the most iconic of these being of course the Spitfire.

Very nice image Ronnie, My father served in the Royal Australian Navy in Korea I was going to follow in his foot steps, I joined the Naval Reserve Cadets at age 13 through to 16 years of age which I loved. But I had to many things Happening in my life and could not sign my life away for 4 years in the Navy. But I wish I did now....... "SUCH IS LIFE."
Very nice image Ronnie.

Awsome killing machine Ronnie, great composition and clarity, had problems myself with the site, tried to vote on Phils photo and it just froze everything, had to reboot and now lost Phils photo, so I think the fault once again is with EPZ.
