Fairground Attraction

By TrevBatWCC
At the bottom end of The Esplanade in Weymouth is a small area with a few fairground rides. I'd seen these lit up on the previous night from the hotel, so I'd set off on my evening walk with the intention of getting a photo or two. Though this shot of the carousel was taken only 7 minutes after my previous upload, the light has dropped considerably. I had with me my recently purchased Manfrotto PIXI EVO mini tripod which fits neatly into the camera bag, and as small and light as it is, it's very solid and sturdy. Close to the carousel were conveniently placed some picnic tables, so set the camera on the tripod on a table and took this shot. I never saw the rides actually in action, even though they were lit up at night, and if you look closely, you'll see that the ride has very fine netting hung up all the way around it.

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging Smile

That's just a safety net to catch the children as they fly off!!!! 😁

They do make such colourful images, Trev: liked your description of your set up in capturing it.
Stationary rides are the only ones I'd be any good at.........as you may recall, I prefer my subjects to be slow movers, better still completely stationary.

I could only just see that netting - good to know it is there - devilish hard to capture when moving!
