A very carefully composed shot to capture the falls against that dark brooding ridge backdrop, and I do like the square format presentation.........an underused format for landscapes IMHO.
Hope you manage to secure some further fine shots like this on your trip to Skye.....take care on the roads.

Thankyou Ronnie for your comments Smile

This is quite a crop down from the original image as its hard to get too close to these falls....without falling in em! I must admit I do like the square format and useing it a lot at the moment. Fingers crossed for some nice light and purple heather Smile

Hope your well

i too really like the square format and do use it - maybe not often enough though - but this is just a magical piece of work - the exposure is just spot on..Jo

A beautiful image. You've captured the energy of the water very well indeed. Hope you have a great trip to Skye. I spent a week there two years ago and it poured down nearly all the time but I still loved it! It's a landscape tog's paradise as your image so clearly shows.

a very good composition from an unusual perspective.
just about everything used to be square, Rolleis, Pentacon sixes Zenza Bronicas, Hasselbalds of course, the lot.
It was nice , you left it as it was or oyu cut it down to a 4:5 format.
Now they have started to press everything into 16:10 or 16:9, I don't like that aspect at all!

Another great photo Angie but not Barnett for long. When was it taken? Quite obviously not summertime.

Thanks guys Smile

Taken in November 2009 (if memory serves) Richard. Never really felt that I have stayed long enough on my 2 visits here, definatly going to devote a whole afternoon this time and get right to the top of the falls.

Bagpipes yes Jeanie, confetti no! Its not allowed anywhere on the castle premisis Sad If we still have the light we'll haveto 'hot foot' it over the otherside of the loch and throw some over there Wink

Super composition Angela. The water movement is particularly well captured.
