fallen blossom

By minicooper
A couple of days a go I noticed this lovely scene where all this blossom had fallen but of instead of getting my image then i waited till this morning and the blossom had been flatten into the ground. I still liked the colours and thought the stump made a nice focal point

I like the colours too and the tree does make a good focal point. It's a shame that the blossoms in the foregound are out of focus. It's OK for the ones in the backgound to be out of focus but I think that the ones nearer the viewer should be sharp.

Have to agree that the out of focus blossoms do blur up the whol picture for me. Also I think that for a shot about blossom there is to much space and attention taken up by the stump and grass. Almost like they are the main point and the blossom is just filler or background.

With a change in focus to bring in more of the pink detail I think you'll get the shot you want, keep the stump as a focus but not the sole one and the blossom will look like part of the shot not just coloured background.

Keep at it as I think you have a good idea brewing here.

I think you have a great concept here, the composition of the image is good and I agree with Cath and Peps that the blurred petals draw the attention away - with this image I would put the focus on the colours and textures, experiment with adjusting the brightness and contrast of the image to boost that lovely pink colour and the texture of the stump, hope this helps

To maintain the focus on the main subjects, stump and blossom, you could try adding a vignette effect around the corners. If you have photoshop, you can find this in the filters under distort / lens correction.

hello people thanks for all the c&c I've uploaded another shot which I feel may make more out of the blossom.
