Falling Leaves

By chrisfroud
It was really cold and frosty this morning so I went out with a couple of friends to take some photos. We went down to the river before sunrise but there was a severe lack of sun. I found this leaf and decided to use it in a 'wide angle' composition but for a change used a wide aperture to thrown the background out of focus and give the leaf more attention.

Effective use of selective colour - I like the strong sense of perspective and the positioning of the leaf within the frame. Well observed and captured ...

Love what you've done with this Chris.
Composition & DOF are spot on. The low angle really forces the viewer to look at the leaf, which also stands out because of the use of selective colour.
Good work.

Works for me Chris. The leaf looks amazing and can definately hold the attention that is thrown on it by the b&w background.

I like the detailing of the leaf, made bolder by the use of a slightly out of focus and B&W background. Great stuff
