Falls of Dochart

By TrevBatWCC
Leaving Callander we headed north to the village of Killin for a quick stop off. The River Dochart flows from Loch Dochart and into Loch Tay, passing through the village, where the river widens out to form the beautiful Falls of Dochart. The water level at the falls can vary quite considerably, but as you can see here at the time of our visit the river level was very low. The lead image and first of the versions is looking north east from the bridge crossing the river, with the second version looking the opposite direction.
Although not unexpected, sad to lose Paul Daniels yesterday Sad I used to love watching his TV shows, and my claim to fame was having the pleasure of working with him when I played in a band in the 70s. Paul did a week at the Wakefield Theatre Club, which had many top stars appearing there, and our band was a support act that same week. It was a dream come true! Smile
Many thanks again to Richard (DicksPics) for his User Award on my previous upload Hero or Villain? , most appreciated! Smile

The first image (and the first version too) is looking downstream from he bridge and shows snow capped Ben Lawers in the background.
Killin with the Falls is such a photogenic spot and you were there at the best time - winter - as in summer as you can imagine it's a tourist mecca and it becomes so difficult to get a decent shot without hoards of visitors everywhere.
However the lone figure in the second version does allow one to appreciate the scale.
Ronnie.

PS.......and indeed sad to know of the passing of Paul, a master of his trade.

Love that babbling brook. You look quite low down even though you're on a bridge.

A fine downstream composition, Trev. The dappled light/shadow looks good with your processing.

Excellent Trev, though version two for me please. Viewed large the lone figure gives scale.

I confess that I was in shock at seeing a photo of yours without a building in sight, but I got over that with V1.

Joking aside, three fine images Trev.

I'm in reverse mode but that doesn't alter the beauty of the setting.
