Thanks guys for your great comments on my previous upload 'A Bit Of Fun', you certainly help me to keep that shutter release clicking

I have a relatively busy time in my little studio over the next couple of weeks; depending on the clients wishes, you may or may not see them. Yes, it can be a bit of a pain, but I do respect client wishes in terms of my usage of the images.

As a result of this Newborn shoot, I have a few advanced bookings, which I am very pleased about, why wouldn't I be Grin but alas, I will not be a rich photographer, they are a very rare breed. I am hoping that my first experience will set me in good stead and that the next Newborn shoot will be an improvement, for both myself and the clients.

These are a collection of some of the family shots I took during the newborn session, I hope you enjoy them

Ironically Mark, one of the reasons I learnt to do portraiture and eventually set up my little studio was because of the cost of school photographs. I have a whole nation of Grandchildren, so when it comes to school photographs the cost is beyond the budget of their parents. I remember as a kid, back in the day when photography had just been invented; when the school photographer came round, if you had a sibling in the school, and/or a younger sibling under school age, arrangements were made for all to be photographed together. Thus reducing the overall cost; the cost of a basic set of photographs taken by school photographers is beyond many parents budgets in these times where money is tight and therefore has to be prioritised, which is a shame.

I appreciate that there are some who would think well, it's not too much, especially for such a treasured memory and record, but, the southern and western side of the economy in the UK tend to fair better in financial terms to the eastern side of the economy and money is not as plentiful

And I have a feeling that school pictures are largely in the hands of a small number of big companies, for whom the humble snapper is another tool, rather than a skilled professional...

Well, they are, but not as young as they look, although Dad, think he is possibly the additional child
