Nutters 6 1

Like this shot,
The guy in the foreground looking at the camera and smiling is at a thirds intersection which helps him stand out from the crowd. I think his smile also gives the viewer a sense of the atmosphere at the event.
loads of various people, various shapes, sex and colour all adds interest in the foreground and the shallow angle of the shot across the crowds heads helps show the vastness of the crowd.
A good candid shot,
Trev.

I really like the image and agree with everything Nutters has said. I'd have been partial to do away with the cup somehow, as it holds focus a bit too much and stops the eye naturally wandering around the rest of the crowd (natural focus being 'smiler'). I also like the way the perspective of the crowd is even all the way to the back (i.e. the size of the faces in the top left are the same as the faces in the top right, I hope that makes sense Smile )
Great image, thanks for sharing Smile

thought it might look good in mono...(see mod)...like the direct eye contact from a number of different people...looks almost staged Smile

These sort of shots are always increadiby difficult because of the problem of where to start and stop. But you have done really well here as the smiley guy draws your attention and stops the shot being just a sea of different people. The shiny forehead to the right is a bit of a distraction, but as Focus_Man says you just have to accept with this kind of shot that you are going to have people chopped off at the front.

Best wishes

Thank you all for the critique, you've really boosted my enthusiasm somewhat. I had similar thoughts about the image which must mean I'm on the right track.
I actually didn't look when I shot it.
Thanks again.
