Fantasy Place Mat n Coaster

By Canadiann
Hello everyone how r u all? Well to begin with I just wanted to say how very much I have appreciated all your well wishes and wonderful caring and support during this difficult time for me. My wrist is doing much better glad to say. The physiotherapy is as I suspected rather painful and difficult. Also very time consuming. Sometimes to the point of making me cry. ( Big Suck ) No really I thought I had a high tollerence to pain but this is really making me re evaluate. I know I have to work hard at this and I fully expected some pain but not as much as this. Twice a week TORTURE. Well if I want to gain full use of my wrist and hand I had better toughen up LOL. Hope you will enjoy my latest creation in my series of placemats, this time with the original photo acting as a matching coaster. The photo was taken at Edwards Gardens which is a beautiful place not too far from here just outside of Toronto. Well worth a visit if you are ever out this way. A popular place for wedding photography. All of your thoughts, comments and tips are very much appreciated. Sorry I am so far behind with comments I hope you will understand this is a tough time and I am trying to help get the house ready. I stained the wood around the fireplace and for the beams in the living room. It will look lovely when it's done. Can't wait to show you all the pictures. I will get a few comments done over the weekend and throughout the coming week.
Take care of yourselves and my love to you all.

This is excellent, Ann, what a wonderful design for both the place mat and coaster, excellent work. Good luck with your wrist, I have been suffering with RSI, and have been having cortizone injections, and that is pretty painful, so I know a little of what you are suffering. Be positive, things will come right in the end, have faith. Carol x

Hi Ann, lovely piece of work again, does look like an embroidery, the woven orange edging to the place mat works well. Nice idea to have a matching drink mat too! Sorry to hear that you are going through it with the physio, just remember each session you have is one less to endure. I know it doesn't take the pain away but try to stay strong. Thinking of you.

This is EXCELLENT Ann. Great photography, design and artwork, have you ever tried to get them made-up as a set? Know what you are going through with the physiotherapy but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck and chin up.

What a lovely piece of work, what a clever idea. I know you get photographs put onto mouse mats but this idea would work really well.
What a clever lady you are!

Firstly can I say what an excellent image this is! Very well done.
You have my sympathy regarding your physio as my husband has recently had an operation on his shoulder and is also undergoing physio, and is in great pain. I hope that you find some ease soon and my thoughts and best wishes are with you.

This really does look like a piece of embroidery, and such a perfect subject for it! Perhaps that should be your next project, Ann, to create embroidered placemats of the best in your series!! (When your wrist is properly healed, of course). All the best with the physio - it sounds punishing, but of course will be worth all the pain in the end.
