One of the 'issues' with working with a familiar subject matter and/or venue is that it could get a little staid for anyone choosing to reattend, as such i am constantly on the look out for new 'props' for perches and backgrounds.

This in itself is not much of an issue but our garden really does look like steptoes back yard.

'tech' - low light and a little rain, so high ISO, big Aperture, -EC all to gain a reasonable shutter speed and to try and attain a realistic mock-barn darkness in the background. Did suffer loss of depth but alternative was to gamble on shutter and end up with nothing sharp.

Very nice owl image...
I like both bit V2 I think is a little bit better on detail..

thanks for the comment - i was very tempted to correct the top of the door, but in the end decided that is was looking dilapidated enough to be hanging off square and also this way the Owl's eyes are fairly well aligned
