The second in the calendar series - February. Still cold and grey, a longing for more colour as the year goes on. It is also the month of St Valentines. I hope this image portrays both. I would like to say the image was carefully composed and crafted the truth was it was shot by pure chance on 17 February 2007 on Dundas Aqueduct on the Kennet and Avon Canal, while waiting for Tangmere to approach on a Croydon - Bristol excursion, as it passed I turned around to take the 'going away' shot and the couple just happened to be standing on the opposite side of the canal (not seen) watching the train going off into the distance (you can just see the red light on the rear of the train and 34067 in lost under the cloud of steam). I would like to imagine they are recalling romantic train journeys they had in the past to far away places but today will just return home to their cottage and a warm fire.
