Thanks all. a difficult one in my opinion. I would have preferred the youngster pin sharp and the adult slightly soft rather than the other way round? Obviously depth of field severely limited but - wrong choice?

For me, I like the adult being in sharp focus - there is a certain tilt to the head that makes this photo something special, we can almost see the exasperation written across its face!

We have a raised lawn at the back of the house - gives a good viewpoint!
