Last Saturday afternoon it was some bird photography time for me down on the banks opposite the Salina Salt Pans in pretty cold conditions. I eventually ended up cold and numb all over but really enjoyed being outdoors with my camera after a hectic working week at the office.
I gave my Nikon D90 (fitted the Nikkor 70-300mm lens) another try last weekend feeling much comfier using it this time round. Since I was mainly after some decent bird close-up photography I found myself pretty much shooting at maximum focal length of the lens (300mm) most of the time. In all honesty I have to say that the Nikon D90 did not let me down. Here I zoomed in on this approaching female mallard as she headed in towards the bank ..... I really loved the crispness and natural colours in the end product, viewing large should give improved detail.
Have a nice weekend,
Joe
