Fieldfares

By HobbitDave
No prizes for picture quality as taken through glass at 600mm on a cloudy day, but nice to see nineteen Fieldfares in the trees nearby. they are elegant birds with their grey heads and backs. V.4 shows all of them against a snowy sky.
I believe Fieldfares and Redwings are winter immigrants mainly from Scandinavia.

Thank so much for the very unexpected awards on my young woodpecker yesterday, they are really appreciated and very heart-warming! Thanks indeed 😻

Think they’re only Northern Europe and U.K. in winter, Christina. Very pretty birds. I’ve put an old book plate up as v.5 with illustration of Fieldfare and Redwing, they are both from the Thrush family and are closely related.
