Fighting Cocks.

By ringyneck
I know it's technically rubbish ...BUT....

I have heard about the territorial battles of Robins but never seen any evidence of it until yesterday. This was almost under the perch featured in my last upload (Popular Perch) and about 25-30 feet away deep in the undergrowth.
The one on the left "won" and chased the other away. They were last seen shouting at each other before one returned to claim a spell around the perch again....or was it a 3rd one...lol

Cheers for your comments on mine Keith.....I think that's what the problem is really, I'm fed up with the winter and there being so few bugs around. I always seem to suffer more with aches and pains in the cold weather though.....Never mind, it won't be long now and Spring will be here....Hurrah!

Robins can be murderous towards each other at the best of times, you should see them having a go at each other in my garden, well done on showing us just how tough nature can be!

Would you believe it, but I witnessed something similar this morning.
There is **** Robin and the female with the extended maxilla - all is content
All of a sudden another male appeared - no chance of any togging for about five minutes, as the territorial battle commenced and disturbed everything else.

I think the resident Robin wonWink
