Figs, my favourite fruit! Or on second thoughts, are these red onions? No, they’re figs! That’s a beautiful filigree candle-holder, Again that rather sensuous ‘film noir’ feel to this, like the plums and scales image👌 Am intrigued with how much energy you put into these images, Janet, and the fine results you get. Good luck with the light box ☀️

Dave.

Thanks everyone.
Dave, wonderful to have your UA, thank you.
Robert, many thanks for your GEA, so very complimentary.

I'm not even going to try and say that out loud !!

I will try and answer your question Fiona.
For me, a light box lets the light in, a shadow box keeps the light out except from above.
I have made mine out of a cardboard box, so, open at the front with a moveable/removable top.
All painted black on the inside or lined with black paper/material.
The top has a slit cut in it, just about in the middle, with a length of cardboard cut a little wider than the slit so it can be moved over the slit to control the amount and direction of the light. Then, a light of whatever source coming from the top only.
Therefore it creates shadows on the base. I can slide in different bases on the bottom, depending on what effect I am looking for.
I will try and find a decent link and post here shortly.

Here you go , mine is similar but I can change the 'Window' size with the wider length of cardboard and I have mine ( at the moment) with the 'window' at the top.
