Film and nostalgia

By dudler
The building in the lead is one that I walked past daily when I worked in Coventry, once it had been built. The cramped composition reflects, I think, the use of a 35-70mm zoom on a Minolta 9000.

The version is from Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and the shadows have never fallen quite the same way since that day. I am sure, this time, of the lens and camera: Contax RTS II with a 35mm Distagon.

Happy Film Friday, everyone!

P.S. Belatedly, there's a blog. There will be fewer of these, now that I am writing paid articles again - and taking more pictures..

Julie, Dave -

I knew I was a bit dopey this morning, but...

Now added. From the hard drive...

The building is adjacent to the ring road, close to the station: I passed it twice a day, walking from station to Christchurch House and back.

Christchurch House has now been demolished, and replaced by a leisure pool. That would have saved me many hours of walking to the pool on the opposite side of the city centre and back for a swim, if the two buildings could have coexisted...

A belated blog is now up.

And although I shall be writing blogs from time to time, the daily posting is now slowing - instead, you may want to have a look at a full-length article or two: !): https://www.ephotozine.com/article/8-top-tips-on-creating-beautiful-bokeh-in-your-photos-35555

A smashing wall in your lead and love the bonsai and shadows in your version.

I love the Bonsai Trees and the shadows on the wall that add so much mystery to the shot.

I have to say the version is my favourite John. Beautiful lighting and shadows.
