Cinco de Mayo happens on the 5TH May as the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of [i
]General Ignacio Zaragoza[/i]. The victory of the smaller Mexican force against a larger French force was a boost to morale for the Mexicans. Zaragoza died months after the battle due to illness. A year after the battle, a larger French force defeated the Mexican army at the Second Battle of Puebla, and Mexico City soon fell to the invaders.
The medal relates on the 25TH April 2020 a virtual race for the 3RD Cinco De Mayo 5km was to become a virtual race over the 2ND May 2020, and I selected a walk which is 2˝ kilometres each way from Google® maps from my apartment (36 Herkimer Street) to the Roman Catholic Diocese Office of Hamilton (700 King Street West) and back to my apartment with my time of 47 minutes & 34 seconds.
As we are in stages of COVID-19 and Pandemic the organizer decided it’s best to be a virtual race. To remind those in future years COVID-19 is is an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus. The disease has spread globally since 2019, resulting in the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Common symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath,. muscle pain. PANDEMIC. is from Greek π ν pan "all" and δ μος demos "people" is a disease epidemic that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents, or worldwide. A widespread endemic disease with a stable number of infected people is not a pandemic. Further, flu pandemics generally exclude recurrences of seasonal flu. Throughout history, there have been a number of pandemics of diseases such as smallpox and tuberculosis. One of the most devastating pandemics was the Black Death, which killed an estimated 75 to 200 million people in the 14TH century. The current pandemics are HIV/AIDS and COVID-19.
