I was amazed when I saw this shot in the computer. I never knew how these fireworks turn around at high speed whilst they ascend into the night sky. I should have known seeing how bullets revolve as they are discharged from guns. This shot was taken at the British Musical Fireworks Championships in Southport in 2014 if memory serves me right.

Well it surprised me Lin. I had the little camera on a tripod and there was no trigger. Just had to try and anticipate when the firework could be in the right position. Lots did not turn out right but one or two made the grade! David

Jenn, Thanks for your comments. Shots like these are better taken on dark evenings. Go on EPZ or Flickr. Look up firework shots. Find really good ones. Then look up the settings the authors have used. You need a cable release or a remote shutter., or use the 2 second time delay. This is to ensure you have no camera shake. David

They look like three palm trees. I have tried firework photographs before but never very successful. I must have another go on 5th November.

Thanks Sangram. I assure you Paul this was not clever just fortunate. And Ian - rocket propelled palm trees - whatever next! David
